This study provides evidence of the high-quality pain
management provided to colorectal patients in a hospital
with a well-established pain service. Although some areas
around waiting for medication or for pain to be made more
comfortable exist, overall patient satisfaction remains high.
Through dissemination of these findings via multiprofessional
meetings and educational sessions provided by the acute pain
service, it is anticipated that pain management practices will
be further improved. There will be a need to further evaluate
patient satisfaction through future service evaluation
